"TIMES SQUARE IN MY REARVIEW" [2015]

Packin' my bags

With a little unease

For the past four years

I’ve been on my knees

But now the tide is changin’

Yeah, I’m headin’ south

Though, it ain’t for good

I just need to step out

Winter’s comin’ soon

I shouldn’t be so sad

The travelin' got rough

But never got too bad

Been sleepin’ on dirty floors

And drinkin’ bad booze

Now I’m drivin’ away with Times Square in my rearview

I meet my sweet lover

On the Lower East Side

And I kiss her goodbye

With a tear in my eye

I load up the pickup truck

With a great, big sigh

Then I'm bound like a rocket

For the Jersey Turnpike

Winter’s comin’ soon

I shouldn’t be so sad

The travelin' got rough

But never got too bad

Been sleepin’ on dirty floors

And drinkin’ bad booze

Now I’m drivin’ away with Times Square in my rearview

I got into Nashville just before noon

Then I quickly made my way to the nearest saloon

I had a pint of cold beer and a tall shot o’ Jack

I came down from New York City, and I never looked back

Winter’s comin’ soon

I shouldn’t be so sad

I heard that Music City winter’s rough

But never North Country bad

Been sleepin’ on studio floors

And singin’ the blues

I went drivin’ away

With Times Square in my rearview
