"LONESOME"

I’d leave the city, but I ain’t got no car

And I got no money to fix up my guitar

I spent it all on whiskey

And records down on Bleecker Street last night

My friends they say that I need to unwind

They say that I’m too stressed out all the time

I always make excuses

‘Bout why I can’t go out to all the parties

With them

‘Cause I am too lonesome

I am too lonesome

To do anything

Except think of her

Last night I met a girl from Australia

She wore a lot of makeup—maybe too much

I said I like her accent

She said she likes my face and that’s enough

I took her hand and told her I feel bad

She said she knew just what to do for that

And she kissed me in the dirty bar

But I don’t think that I did kiss her back

Oh, no

‘Cause I am too lonesome

I am too lonesome

To do anything

Except think of her
