"I WANT A DOG"

I want a dog

He could be my best friend

Better than any human ever could

If I had a dog

I’m sure I’d never get lonely

I’d rub and pat his belly all day long

‘Cause I’m tired of these people

Who are always puttin’ down

And there is so much anger

In this mean old New York town

I know a dog can’t fix it all

I know a dog can’t fix it all

But he can help

I want a dog

To play in Central Park with

To roll around and bark with on the lawn

If I had a dog

He’d wear a red bandana

And fall asleep on top of me in bed

‘Cause I’ve met a lot of strangers here

And lots of them are rude

So lately I’ve been stayin’ in

With no one to talk to

I just want a dog, to fix it all

I want a dog, to fix it all

O please

‘Cause I’ve met a lot of strangers here

And lots of them are rude

So I’ve been stayin’ in

And drinkin’ hard

Got no one left to talk to

I just want a dog, to fix it all

I want a dog, to fix it all

O please
